Dream With Me
Dream with me for a few moments; that song “If I had a Million dollars” rings plays in my head often. As silly as it is, I would LOVE to have this building. I love the character and the apparent history of this old building. One day I would love to have Kooshlie Care Doula Services in a mural on the side of the building. I would love to host classes, bring in guest speakers and hold community support groups for dad, grandparents, moms and families. I would have a room dedicated to care packages to go home with the families with new little ones. Gift bags for mom’s in the postpartum time. Training for family on how to best approach the postpartum time.
One Day, But Not Today
The old adage “How do you eat an elephant…” rings true here. Small steps, big plans. This month I start forming my big plans for the future and mapping out my small steps to get there.
Stay tuned, some of my dreams I will share as they are dreamt, some will be unveiled when the time is right. I will leaning in on my faith for strength and guidance, and I will be expanding my reach is so many ways. I believe 2019 is going to be the year of stretching and steps of faith, greater than I have taken thus far.
Mingling my Faith and my Work
I have a pressing desire in my heart to bring my faith back into play for the family unit in terms of pregnancy, birth and postpartum time. Over the next few weeks I will be reviewing all of what I have learned from Lamaze, observation, and personal teaching experience’s and developing a faith-based childbirth, postpartum care, and family bonding education and support network. This will be something that will be tested small, and then grown larger over the course of time.
As a person with a deep-rooted faith I believe strongly that we should not remove God or our faith from our family growing plans. I believe in a God who is just as much invested and has a plan for my family’s future as my own personal one. Therefore I want to bring that faith into a customized birth plan. All families, and people’s will be welcome, none will be excluded, because love should bind us and lead us. I do understand that not all people will want to take my classes, and that is OK. There are so many wonderful options for all people, taught by some of my favorite people. And teachers I hope to emulate in my teaching as I grow in that area.
