Work From Home
For those of you who have worked from home for years, what are your go-to and must-haves? I have my desk, but I do not excel at figuring out a good flow with an area. My dear husband is actually the one who has done most of the organization in our kitchen. I work on my computer, read, and sometimes I like to write. My desk is not in good flow for all of those things… So I find myself strewn all over the house.
The Skills I Have
What I have come to grab a hold of is this: Use the skills you have. And give yourself grace in the area’s you find lacking. We are all creating uniquely. Bloom in that, grown and nurture your gifts, and lean into friends, family for the support to pursue your dreams.
My first step to nurture the skills I have is to figure out what they are.
- Acts of Service
- Encouragement
- Problem solver – Just not in the organizing space sense.
- Teacher
My skill list can go on, when I evaluate myself I can see why I am drawn to the work of a doula. I am gifted and meant to do this work. I can do anything that I put my mind towards, but given the free rein, I am always drawn to rolls of support.
Pushing Through
When you look at what makes me thrive and bloom, you can understand why I can get bogged down in the daily grind. I get focused on my current passion or gaol and forget the daily routine that I must do to make sure that my family’s needs are being met. If the household isn’t thriving it is going to cause an emotional suck on my ability to serve my clients well.
The Rhythm We Need
Balance is subject to so many factors, balance is hard for me to find. However, finding the rhythm in the life of my family, work and personal time are where success lives. Success is more than reaching your goal in one area of your life- it is finding joy, love and the time to pursue your passions.
