dream buildingDreams Are Funny Things

I have long thought about this building over the eleven years that I have lived here in Asheville. They have tried over the years to fix up this building to get it to sell, they have tried to make it more aesthetically pleasing.
It never seems to get much traction. I do not know how much this building costs, nor how much it is worth. What I do know is that I absolutely love it.  If I had the money, in a heartbeat, I would buy it, renovate it and set up shop.

Remember to take the time to enjoy the time you have with family, young and old. Honor old traditions and begin new ones. My mother has always been very gifted in crafting, creating and generally imagining things. On the first of December we would start a felted Christmas tree advent calendar. Each night a different devotional would be read and a new ornament would be added to the tree. It was always special, and we would have to take turns with who would be able to choose the placement each night. My grandmother taught me how to make orange bread and wassail, I look forward to making these each year.

Lamaze educatorThis past Thursday I took my Lamaze educators exam. To be honest, I was very concerned about taking this test. I don’t like to risk failing at things. Therefore, generally speaking I do not do things that I am not pretty sure that I will succeed at. The last few years I have really pushed myself through a few times when I wanted to give up. This has been a very good lesson and confidence builder for me.

I am currently heading into 2019 with my head held high and great plans for the future. There are so many things that I have in the works and under development for this year.

Life is uncertain; there are so many things that we do and take for granted every day.  If we really sat down and allowed ourselves to dwell on the fear factors within we would likely find ourselves in a constant state of fight or flight.  I don’t believe that pregnancy, labor and birth should be any different from the way we approach any new challenge in our life.

Fear is and can be a healthy reaction; it can save us from getting run over by a car; it can cause us to choose not to walk down a “dark alley” or whatever figure of speech you want to use.  If we rule our fear and harness it, listen to it and use it to empower us to make wise choices; we can do amazing things. When fear holds us back and causes us to make mistakes; or miss out on chances in life is when fear rules us.  Fear is anchored in the unknown. I believe that when you gain knowledge, you begin the process of harnessing your fear.
