Many new families feel like they could use an extra pair of hands...or two...or three. This is where a postpartum doula can step in! Our postpartum doulas are there in the first few days, weeks, or months as you transition into parenthood. We are there to help you with your basic needs such as nutritious meals, assuring you get a shower - and wash your hair (!) to helping with sleep (for both you and your baby), making sure your registry list is complete and not full of just cute clothes, and more.
Our postpartum doulas are trained to be aware of any red flags regarding perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs). We can help you get settled into your new normal and establish a routine. Just as birth doulas, we do not offer opinions on how you should care for your new baby; we are here to normalize your new routine, offer up-to-date and evidence based information. Our postpartum doulas are also available to help you with breastfeeding issues, bottle feeding, basic infant care, and sibling integration.
Postpartum care hours are billed at an hourly rate. Clients can pay for a bank of hours before the arrival of your baby or be in touch once you land home and the need arrises. Postpartum hours have the benefit of being structured to fit your needs - cooking, light house work, prenatal meal prep and batch cooking, nursery organization, etc. Most clients find that blocks of 2-4 hours at a time to be the most helpful.
Family and friends can often make postpartum hours possible! Who needs a bunch of onesies? Family and friends can give YOU the gift of support. Simply have your loved ones fill out this form and we'll be in touch with them to secure their gift of support.
It's helpful to schedule postpartum hours in advance, but we understand that things can go from great to I need help very quickly once the initial crowd of support goes away. Feel free to call us at any time and we will work to get you the support you need in place as quickly as possible.
