As Kooshlie Care Doula Services grows and expands over time, I have learned that I need to make sure that I have a wonderful resource of educators who can provide backup support and knowledge. They are integral to me being able to confidently serve and support the clients that I take on. Each person that is added to our team brings a new 'flavor' and a new viewpoint as we move forward.

I started this company in the summer of 2019 to help local mommies obtain the care and assistance they deserve during this beautiful journey of childbirth and lactation. I have four beautiful children, two boys and two girls. You can find me, on most days, at the baseball/softball fields. I enjoy sewing, baking, and hiking with the family during my downtime.

Sierra

Sierra is a certified holistic pediatric sleep consultant and the founder of Takes a Village Parent Education, a sleep consulting business. Using her certification and degree in Human Development and Family Science, she works directly with parents and their young children, including her own daughter, educating families over healthy sleep habits and safe sleep practices. Sierra focuses on gentle sleep training to improve the child's sleep so they can continue to have healthy development throughout all stages of their life.

Allison Coleman

I am Allison Coleman, owner and main doula with Asheville Baby Guru. I am a mom to four great children, all older now. I recently moved to the Asheville area from Austin, Texas, where I have run a successful postpartum doula agency since 2010. I am a parenting coach, specializing in the very early days of parenting. My goal is to support parents to feel confident in their births, and also in caring for and communicating with their babies in the first few days and moving forward. I was led to this work after having had severe postpartum depression with one of my pregnancies. I know that new moms can become lost in the lack of sleep, struggles with breast-feeding and responsibilities of having a baby. All the family members are going through an adjustment at this time and may need extra care. I believe that support makes the difference in an easier and happier start. I have been blessed to be able to offer that support in a variety of ways since 1998. I feel strongly that it is our role as doulas to work ourselves out of a job. We do this by supporting and educating families until they feel confident in their own parenting. I am certified as a birth doula with Childbirth International and ToLabor. I worked as a midwife's assistant and studied as a direct-entry midwife before discovering the role of postpartum doula. I went on to be educated in postpartum doula support with Maternity Wise and as a Breast-feeding Educator with Texas Department of Health. I keep up with continuing education in all things effecting birth and postpartum on a regular basis. I founded and run the ABG Postpartum Doula Certification program, training doulas worldwide.
